freud's last session | nyc

With Rajiv Joseph's Gruesome Playground Injuries in previews at Second Stage, and this one recently opened at the West Side Y (produced by Carolyn Rossi Copeland, formerly of the Lambs Theatre Company in NYC, and Julie Taymor's Spiderman (music by U2) in perpetual previews at Foxwood's, maybe it's time for a quick trip to NYC...

Freud's Last Session
by Mark St. Germaine
The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre
at the West Side Y

"In his book The Question Of God, Dr Armand M. Nicholi, Jr. writes, 'After Freud immigrated to England, a young Oxford professor visited Freud during this time but has not been identified. Might it have been C.S. Lewis?'
On September 3, 1939, the date of their meeting in Freud's Last Session, Dr Freud was 83 years old to Prof Lewis' 41. Lewis' conversion took place when he was 33 years old. Freud is at the end of a long and brilliant career. . . ."

Saw this when we were in NYC last summer. SO good -- funny and moving! And the Marjorie Deane is an absolute jewel-box of a theatre.
