May 9: VOC Soul Gospel Choir

Alison Chisholm pretty much runs the office at Pacific Theatre, but that's not all she does. As well as acting in occasional Stones Throw shows - and her own Fringe show this fall! - Ali started singing with the VOC Soul Gospel Choir last fall. Wanna hear 'em? Here's Alison...

I became a member of the VOC Soul Gospel Choir in October 2008 and it has been an absolute blast to be a part of it. It seems that by the end of every concert, the entire audience is on its feet clapping and dancing along. If you like soul or if you like gospel, then I certainly recommend that you come out to the show this weekend.

Soul Gospel Comes to West Van
Saturday, May 9th, 2009 7:30 pm
West Van United Church
2062 Esquimalt Ave, West Vancouver
Doors open 6:30 pm
Admission by minimum donation
(Adults $15, Seniors & Students $10, Youth 10 to 15 $5, Kids 9 & under are free)

Let me know if you plan on coming, so that I can be sure to say Hello to you after the show. This is a larger venue than the last concert that people tried to attend, so there shouldn't be any risk of you being turned away this time. If you would like to come and see us perform, but don't think you will be able to make it out to this concert - don't worry! Apparently we already have at least 7 gigs booked for the summer - including a performance at the Folk Festival on the morning of July 17th. So there are plenty more opportunities to come and hear us sing. But hopefully some of you will be able to make it out on the 9th!
